1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Basel Convention Competent Authorities API ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

The Service provides access to Basel Convention Competent Authority contact information via a RESTful API. We provide verified contact details for government agencies responsible for Basel Convention compliance in various countries.

3. Access and API Keys

The Service is free to access and does not require an API key for standard endpoints.

  • Use the API responsibly and avoid abusive request patterns
  • Do not attempt to bypass security or service limits
  • Do not misrepresent the source of the data
  • Contact support if you require higher-volume access

4. Free Access and Fair Use

Basel API is provided as an open-access service. We reserve the right to introduce reasonable usage safeguards to protect service availability.

  • Automated scraping or bulk harvesting is not permitted
  • We may rate-limit requests that threaten service stability
  • Commercial use is permitted with proper attribution

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

  • Share, resell, or redistribute API keys or access credentials
  • Exceed rate limits or attempt to bypass usage restrictions
  • Use the Service for illegal activities or fraud
  • Scrape, cache, or store large amounts of data beyond reasonable use
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the API
  • Use the Service to spam or harass Competent Authorities
  • Make false or misleading claims about the Service
  • Access the Service through automated means without authorization

6. Data Accuracy and Disclaimers

IMPORTANT: The Service provides contact information for informational purposes only.

  • We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee information is current or complete
